First Unitarian Society of Denver offers sanctuary…

Jeanette Vizguerra, an undocumented immigrant who has lived in the U.S. for 20 years, is under a deportation order and was supposed to check in with authorities on February 15. Instead, the mother of four and immigration activist is seeking sanctuary in the basement of First Unitarian Society of Denver.

Because the church has made a practice of publicly announcing to ICE its intentions to host an undocumented immigrant, Rev. Mike Morran said he was told by a consulting lawyer that the church is not acting against the law.

  1. The church should be able to do whatever they want to, but by harboring a criminal illegal, you should not be awarded non- tax status. Please release Ms. Vizguerra to the authorities or lose your non- tax status. The President has made a ruling and the illegal immigrant that you are harbouring must be deported. She has broken the law several times and should go.
