Capitol Reef National Park
We have reserved the group campsite at Capitol Reef National Park- checking in on May 9 (Thursday) and checking out May 12 (Sunday).
Capitol Reef is a little less than 5 hours from Durango in the heart of the canyon country and has an average high in May of 75 degrees and a low of 48. The park is rich in history (Fremont people) with petroglyphs and pictographs; geology featuring cliffs, domes, spires, monolithes, and arches; a beautiful orchard; and a ghost town (Fruita). It has 15 day hikes ranging from .25 mi. to 10 mi. round trip. The campground has potable water, flush toilets, pavilion, picnic tables and fire rings. RVs are permitted but the total number of vehicles can not exceed 10 (a truck and trailer counts as two). We will try and car pool where possible.
The activities will include a group potluck supper on Saturday night, games, hikes, conversation, etc.
SPACE IS LIMITED, SO SIGN UP ASAP AND LET US KNOW IF YOU WILL BE SLEEPING IN A TENT, RV, OR CAR.
