November 11 Town Hall results

Our architect, Elizabeth Boone from R&A, presented the first set of three potential site locations for the new building. Nearly 1/2 of our membership attended. Elizabeth fielded many questions from the highly engaged audience. She tallied reactions to a set of clarifying questions for each of the three locations via an online survey. The survey results can be viewed here. These designs did not incorporate use of the city “park” property to the south of the parking lot. The city is still in the process of determining if and how they might allow us access to and use of that property. We should know more in the next couple of weeks. Their reaction may substantially change what and where we are able to build.

Elizabeth and the Design Engagement team will work together in the next weeks to incorporate the survey and in-person comments into further refined plans. Other site locations may also be considered. She will bring an updated set of site locations to the Fellowship at a Town Hall on November 23. After her presentation, she will make available a more detailed survey for everyone in the congregation to complete online between then and December 1. Based on our reactions to those drawings and the financial feasibility study being conducted by UUA consultant Kay Kreider in early December, we hope to have a much more detailed set of plans to consider at a Town Hall meeting on December 14.
