Share the Plate is a significant tradition of generosity in UUFD.  Each month, typically on the first Sunday of the month, all contributions (unless otherwise noted by a donor) during the Offering in the Sunday worship service go to a selected local nonprofit engaged in justice work.  UUFD donations tend to average about $1000 per month.  The Social Responsibility and Justice (SRJ) Coordinating team accepts nominations from the congregation for recipients from based upon guidelines established by the team.

Nominations are received throughout the month of August.  Nomination forms are available after each Sunday worship, or by completing the form below. In September the SRJ Team reviews received nominations and selects recipients.  In October the cycle of new recipients begins.

GUIDELINES

In the process of selection, the SRJ team reviews information provided by the nominator about the organization, with special attention to the following criteria:

  • Is the organization a nonprofit based in the Four Corners area?
  • Is the organization focused on work in the priority 2026-2027 areas of Housing Issues or Indigenous Services? In what way?

To nominate a nonprofit to receive Share the Plate funds, complete a nomination form for review by the Social Responsibility and Justice Coordinating Team.  Please note that if this organization is chosen, you will be asked to arrange for speakers from the organization to briefly describe their mission during the Share-the-Plate Sundays in which their donations are collected.

We hear from organizations that have received our donations that our funds make a significant impact in their ability to fulfill their mission in our community.  Show your love for your favorite nonprofit and nominate!
