Value engineering progress and BETF changes

As we complete the Value Engineering process (reducing the cost of the new build) BETF is entering a period of transition.  Some members are leaving as we approach our “construction phase.”  Barbara Hawn & Deborah Lycan have officially transitioned off of BETF.  We are so grateful for their contributions and each one brought unique talents to our group.  We anticipate additional changes going forward and are looking for new members as well.  Please contact Tom Miller or Sherrod Beale if you are interested.  We are encouraged by Deborah’s parting words: “It was my honor and pleasure to serve with this hard working, diligent, thoughtful team for the past year. I am proud of the work we have done to create a beautiful, light, energy efficient space we can afford. The design has evolved enormously from a year ago, but your most important priorities have been maintained. I am confident that this is a project that we will all be enjoying another year from now.”

The BETF has created a spreadsheet of all the Value Engineering decisions they have made in order to reduce our build cost to get closer to our projected $3.3M available building revenue. You can find it here. BETF members will continue to be available during coffee hour after Sunday services and by appointment to answer questions or discuss decisions. You can also make comments and ask questions to the left of this post. We look forward to your questions and feedback.
