We mark a year since online worship. As we celebrate generosity and our relationship to making this a flourishing congregation, let’s feel the joy this spiritual community can bring. After worship, all are invited to participate in Celebration Sunday’s Dazzle Drive Through at the UUFD parking lot.
SPRING FORWARD It’s Women’s History Month. Rev. Dr. Florence Buck advocated for education from her early days as a schoolteacher, high school principal, minister, and director of religious education for the American Unitarian Association. One of the first women ministers in America, Flo Buck’s accomplishments would be impressive for any person.
The verse sings out, “We shall be known by the company we keep.” We keep faith with the source of life, the community of resistance. We are a community of covenant even (especially?) in times of struggle. The choir sings.
Members who took this class on “eldering” will offer to us wisdom from their journey. Come hear what age has blessed us.
What do we mean by the term “The Beloved Community”? How might our generous gifts get us closer to finding it?
This year’s UUA program, “30 Days of Love” focuses on different themes for each week, culminating today on restorations and reparations. How might we each find our place to refuel? We’ll celebrate the UUA program Side with Love looking at intersectional racial justice, and we’ll listen to beautiful music from Marilyn Garst celebrating love.
While Groundhog Day might be a good day for an annual deadline, it has also been a parable for lessons learned. While staying home might feel like a repetitive practice, where might we find something better than before?
Join in an opportunity to nourish bodies and spirits through food and ritual, inviting us in to deeper connection. Bring to worship a small candle, a bite of food, or your whole meal.
Inspired by the poetic term, “remembering the future,” we usher in a new national administration. How might we have more than just “hope” for the four years ahead of us?
On this MLK Sunday, let us ponder the joyful change work deeply rooted in our theology.
