The Building Engagement Task Force (BETF), in conjunction with the Board and our R&A architect, Elizabeth Boone, has decided that the work of the congregation and BETF over the last three months has generated enough information that further design elaboration needs to be put on hold for two main reasons.

We need to know how much we can afford. So starting a pledge campaign is essential to define the cost envelope we can work within during a design/development phase. We hope to kick off a capital campaign to coincide with this year’s pledge campaign at the Town Hall scheduled for February 15.

We need to come to consensus on how any addition will sit on the site, matching as much as possible the priorities we have evolved over the last decade of considering a campus addition. To do that, we need to have more community dialog to fully consider the various options available to us and the implications of each as they affect our ability to achieve our goals. The BETF hopes to kick off this next round of community discernment, as well, on February 15.
