The service of installation is a ritual of reverence that formally recognizes our commitment and covenant as a community and a settled minister. It recognizes that we have chosen a shared future together and that we promise to care for the special relationship between minister and congregation through all the seasons of our human lives. The Installation isn’t something the congregation does for the minister; rather, it honors and celebrates the promises you are making to one another as you knit yourselves into shared ministry. 

The Committee on Shared Ministry has thought carefully about our journey as a congregation and has chosen the theme “Nourishing Each Other, Embracing Our Future” for the service. This theme is theologically rich, a reminder that the divine is incarnate among us, in a beloved community, and that we must nourish the community with presence, patience, love, joy, and creative hope. Embracing our future means looking ahead with confidence in our covenant and shared leadership, guided by our life-saving, life-affirming Unitarian Universalist values. Together, we will move our mission boldly and bravely into the world!
