The BETF is transitioning from conceptual planning to disciplined project execution. We continue to emphasize that the Fellowship Hall project remains financially achievable while preserving the highest-value program elements. We are narrowing the site and floor plan designs with our architect, Elizabeth Boone while our contractor Nunn is actively developing realistic site costs that are independent of final building design. We should have cost estimates for site improvements including street trees, hardscape, and landscape buffering by July 14.
To stay within our budget realities, we are prioritizing the Fellowship Hall, Lobby and Sanctuary entrance, ADA accessibility for Bowman and lower Sanctuary, a north secure entrance to Columbine and essential building systems. Lower-priority site and building improvements will proceed only if funding permits. Elizabeth feels she can have site plans and tentative elevations to show to the fellowship by early August. We hope to be able to present a full design in early September for discussion and eventual congregational vote.
We have also learned that, once we have decided on final siting and design, construction documents will require approximately six months to complete. City review will add additional and unspecified time that needs to be built in. As a result, Spring 2027 is now the likely construction start.
