UUFD member and Thrive! co-founder, Mo Maliszewski, was instrumental in bringing US wealth inequality expert and best-selling author, Chuck Collins to Durango this fall.
Both hold leadership roles in Unitarian Universalists for a Just Economic Community (UUJEC), a progressive organization, rooted in the UU liberal religious tradition dedicated to economic justice for all.
On Oct. 4th, as part of Thrive!’s 2018 education program, Mr Collins spoke at the Fort Lewis Ballroom on REVERSING INEQUALITY: What is the Path Forward? The ensuing discussion was led by selected community leaders including our own Rev. Katie Kandarian-Morris.
Mr. Collins scheduled a separate presentation on Saturday Oct. 6th at 4:00 p.m. at UUFD entitled: INEQUALITY AND THE BELOVED COMMUNITY: A Faithful Response to Extreme Wealth Inequality.
Collins, who co-authored The Moral Measure of the Economy, a book about Christian ethics and economic life, will explore how people of faith can respond to the extreme inequalities so pervasive in America.
Both events were free and open to all.
