History matters!

Knowing our many histories — personal, national, religious — clarifies identity.

The past informs the present and influences the future.

One of the most requested Adult Education classes on the recent UUFD Faith Formation survey is a class on UU History. This four-week survey will offer an overview of the histories Unitarianism and Universalism, the ancestor traditions of modern UUs, as well as coverage of Unitarian Universalism since the found of this merged denomination in 1961. Come learn about the only Unitarian king in history, mid-nineteenth-century Transcendentalists Emerson and Thoreau, the 20th-century UU Empowerment Movement, the current 8th Principle Project, and much more!

No prior experience in UU history is required. This class will be held only in-person. Watch weekly E-Announcements for more about class materials.

Any questions, please contact Rev Barbara, intmin@durangouu.org.

We look forward to seeing you there.  Join us from 6:30 to 8:30 on Thursday evenings in Bowman Hall.
