A recent Facebook post by Rev. Susan Fredrick-Gray:
What a gift it was to be with Frances Moore Lappé and Adam Eichen today, authors of Daring Democracy: Igniting Power, Meaning, and Connection for the America We Want. This is one of our UUA Common Reads this year. Frances and Adam shared some of the stories and messages in and behind their new book including this one that spoke to me of both what is needed and what I myself have come to know:
“In this moment of extreme threat, we come to see that the opposite of evil is no longer goodness. It is courage. Goodness without action isn’t good enough.” So, don’t let despair take hold of your heart – remember your power and the power we have collectively as people when we take action and organize to protect and defend democracy, human rights, and one another.
